Dr. Sha and the Power of Thanking Others

Monday, August 31st, 2015

This weekend I was able to experience four separate events with Dr. Sha—a preview of the 13 part sign-624x416television series Soul Healing Miracles with Dr.  and Master Sha, a special taping at the home of Adam and Randi Markel, the owners of Peak Potentials, a special healing and calligraphy demonstration at the Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills,  and a free event held at AGAPE International in Culver City, California. All three events were full of light and   positive energy and all three demonstrated the power of  gratitude.

Recently I have been asked to organize an event  that will take place on April 22,2016.  April 22nd, 2016 is Earth Day and the event  is Earth Gratitude Day.  It  is anticipated that more than five million people will participate online in EARTH GRATITUDE DAY. The inspiration for Earth Gratitude Day comes from the film TAPPING THE SOURCE. In that film more than  120 authors, actors, health experts,  visionary leaders, business leaders , artists and athletes were interviewed and  the majority  when asked the key to happiness responded that  some form of expressing gratitude and being of service to others were the two most important elements in their everyday lives. This  intrigued me at the time of  filming and has continued to intrigue  me.  I have since  read of reports  by scientists at major universities that expressing gratitude has  been  among  the highest correlates with  happy people in their studies and that recent neuroscience  is demonstrating on a biological level  chemical changes within  human beings who  express gratitude on a daily basis.

Observing  Dr. Sha  who performed healings at all three events I was reminded that the expression of gratitude is at the core of Dr. Sha’s healing practice.  At the end of each of his forgiveness practices,Dr. Sha thanks the divine for healing. Dr. Sha also asks everyone to remember to say “ thank you, thank you, thank you” at the end of each healing session. Dr. Sha is not asking people to thank him. Dr. Sha  is asking people to thank their source whether they believe in God or just a scientific principle for all that they receive, not just the healing  experience but  for life itself. Dr. Sha always thanks the divine and the DAO whenever he does a healing. For major healings he  does more than just express gratitude in words, he has members of his family in China burn offerings of thanks to the higher beings that he believes  provides the healings.

Another lesson  related to gratitude that  can be learned from Dr. Sha is his constant expressions of 13941544468_2d210be211_ogratitude to all who serve him. As his literary agent and biographer Dr. Sha is constantly  thanking me and  giving me public appreciation for my small role in helping him with his mission. Dr. Sha thanks everyone who assists him whether their contribution is large or small. At AGAPE Dr. Sha did not just thank  Michael Beckwith the founder of AGAPE  for the opportunity to utilize the AGAPE Sanctuary Hall but all those who worked behind the scenes to assist. Dr. Sha always thanks  his divine channels and those who have volunteered to experience his healings. After every  healing he always  says, “ give  xxx  a big hand” which is just another way of thanking those who are willing to receive the healings.

The depth of Dr. Sha’s gratitude to his own teachers can be  observed  in almost every encounter. Dr. Sha comes from a traditional Chinese background so for him his expression of gratitude is to bow down to his teachers.  The video recorded of Dr. Sha receiving a blessing and knowledge of sacred calligraphy from his 103 year old calligraphy teacher   shows Dr. Sha bowing down to her in deep reverence for several minutes. When Dr. Sha  is successful in healing  someone he immediately smiles and thanks the divine. He often bows down to divine spirit in deep  gratitude and reverence and constantly reminds all who listen that it is the divine who heals and not him.

Whether  you believe in Dr. Sha’s ability to perform healing miracles or not, there is much that can be learned from observing the  role of gratitude in  his life and his healing mission. It has been stated by the German Theologian Meister Eckhart  centuries ago that  the only prayer needed is “thank you”. Observing Dr. Sha is a constant reminder of this truth and for all the joy and blessings he has given me over the last several years representing him I am delighted to offer a formal thank you here. No doubt there are many people in your own life to whom  you can never  adequately express your gratitude. Perhaps it is  a parent,  sibling or  even your  own child.  I strongly suggest that sometime later today or  tomorrow you just  contact one of these angels in  your own life and just  say “thank you” If they ask you why you are thanking them, perhaps you should tell them because you are grateful they are  in your life. Gratitude does not have to be  complicated. Thank you really is enough.thank-you-490607_640

Thank  you for reading and have a wonderful day.

Seek and You Shall Find

Tuesday, February 25th, 2014

This famous statement, seek and you shall find, resonates with me this week. After all, we all are seekers in some aspect of our lives.  And while sometimes we come across seemingly insurmountable road blocks – even those of our own making – I firmly believe that most of what we seek is attainable.  The question is, how do we access the best route?

I have had the privilege of representing Soul Healing Miracles authored by Master and Dr. Sha. The book has already sold over 200,000 copies since publication in November and continues to gain momentum.  Dr. Sha is dedicated to humanity and has written this book to help as many people as possible learn how they, too, can perform soul healing miracles both for themselves and their loved ones.

Dr. Sha initiated a new service on his web site just four weeks ago.  He now provides free blessings to anyone who requests one.   In this short period of time over ten thousand people have requested blessings.  More than 5,000 of them have posted messages of gratitude that their requests have already been fulfilled. The request does not have to be limited to health issues. Relationship issues, problems at work, economic challenges, a problem with a pet, etc. are all acceptable topics.  Blessings are meant to resolve a situation or relieve pain.  When making your request, be as specific as possible. You can request multiple blessings, but start with no more than one request per day. Make your request as specific as possible so you can measure the results.

All Dr. Sha requests from you in return is that should your request be granted, you go to his web site and report the result. The web site to go to request a blessing is If you have any difficulty finding   the icon for making your blessing request just join the Dr. Sha community and send your question about how to navigate the site to the Dr Sha customer service email provided. Dr. Sha does sell products on his site as well as special services that require his special personal attention. But these blessing requests are free and there are no strings attached.

I love Master Sha and he loves you and all of humanity. I have spent time with the Dalai Lama and many enlightened beings. Dr. Sha is equal to any of them and works tirelessly to share his gift with as many people as he possibly can. The reality of our world is that every problem we could possibly have does have a solution. Seek and you shall find.

It is not an accident that in most cultures the primary toasts made at parties and during celebrations are “to your imageshealth”, “salud,” “to life,” or the equivalent. Everyone cares about being healthy and living a long and illness free life.

As a graduate student in cultural anthropology at Harvard University in the 1970s, I had the pleasure of studying with Medical Anthropologist Arthur Kleinman who was the world’s leading authority on cross-cultural indicators of successful therapies in hundreds of cultures covering myriad techniques from traditional western medicine to shamanistic practices. The extraordinary finding was that the most important factor in successful therapeutic outcomes had nothing to do with the type of practice or technique. The single most important factor was the belief the patient had in the practitioner.

What this means in terms of analyzing the “placebo effect” and understanding the true nature of both western and alternative healing is a topic that I intend to explore in a full length book that I will be co- authoring with noted medical doctor and alternative healer Dr. and Master Sha, whose Soul Healing Miracles has already sold several hundreds of thousands of copies.

As successful As Dr. Sha has been in promoting his books, which emphasize his specific techniques for teaching people to perform their own soul healing miracles, Dr. Sha has not focused on the science behind his amazing results. I have seen Dr. Sha perform medical miracles, and I do not doubt the efficacy of his techniques.  The majority of people, however, are tied to traditional western medical beliefs and practices. Many are reluctant to explore the types of interventions that Dr. Sha and other non-traditional practitioners such as Dr. Uwe Albrecht have demonstrated countless times. My goal in this new book will be to explain in everyday language what traditional scientists and medical doctors often feel is nothing more than the placebo effect. I do not believe that the placebo effect is the reason for these miracle cures and I also believe that what we often call the placebo effect is, in fact, calling on what at this time have been unmeasured but energetically real influences on healing.

Energetically, the entire universe is connected. Each of us is influenced by the energy which surrounds us. This includes not only germs, viruses and other identifiable organic entities but also non-organic and perhaps non-physical entities as well. My early research with both Dr. Sha and Dr. Albrecht indicates that there is much more to health than just controlling the production of antibodies in our glandular systems or the pulsations of our brain and nerve systems.

I am not trained in medical sciences, and although my father was a chemist, I did not ever study chemistry in college. But I do have some good background in biology and physics, both of which help me analyze some of the medical mysteries I am exploring. My goal is to write a book that anyone with a high school diploma can understand that will help people realize that ultimately they have much more control over their health than they realize.

It is not just that Obamacare is a disaster and that health costs have escalated beyond reason. We are all aging. We are all exposed to increasingly dangerous flus and illnesses. We all need to be better informed about the true nature of healing. To your health.

In honor the late actor James Galdofini, Gayle and I recently watched the complete series of The Sopranos as originally aired on HBO. We enjoyed the series, especially this gifted actor who left us much too soon. One of the favorite comments of Gandolfini’s Tony Soprano character took place particularly after someone died or other tragic incident had occurred (even if he had been the cause of the tragedy or death), “What  ya go’n’a do?”

Gayle and I have taken to using this line quite frequently, especially when things turn out less than optimally. For instance we had to cancel almost all our plans for last week and most of next week because of my flu. When you are sick there really is nothing you can do but try to get well. For Tony when someone died there was nothing left to do. You went to the wake, you threw dirt on the coffin and then went and ate some pasta. What else could you do?   Of course often there were things Tony might do including taking revenge against rival Mafiosi members.

Same when you are sick. On the one hand you just resign yourself to being sick and accept your diminished capacity and the suffering. At the same time you listen to those who recommend rest, chicken soup, and other home remedies. In my case I am doing all of that and also have the benefit of some wonderful healers such as Dr. and Master Sha. Master Sha had emailed me that he had just returned from China and wanted to discuss plans for his next book. I emailed him that I had the flu and we would have to wait at least until next week before I could focus.

Within the hour Dr. Sha called and offered me a healing blessing. That was twenty four hours ago. He recorded a chant and recommend that I hold his book Soul Healing Miracles to my chest and throat and listen to his blessing. I did that a couple of times and although I am not yet one hundred percent I do feel a great deal better. I may still need a couple of days before I have my normal energy and am not contagious to others, but no doubt his remedy is helping.

I am fortunate to have so many people who love me and have sent me get well quick messages. Other than watch football later today and rest, I’m not sure there is anything else I can do. In the meantime I am enjoying in a strange way the acceptance that there is little I can do to speed the healing process. I do not get sick often, and when I do I sometimes think the universe is sending me a message to slow down, collect my thoughts, reassess my priorities, and appreciate the sacredness of good health and a balanced life. What ya go’na do?

Miracles are in the eyes of the beholders. Last Sunday Gayle and I were driving back from a wonderful event we had co-imageshosted in Santa Barbara at the home of Lalla and Rinaldo Brutoco honoring my wonderful friend and client, Master and Dr. Sha, author of the bestselling Soul Healing Miracles book series. There were many miracles that occurred at the Saturday party, but the miracle that caught my attention was  an amazing synchronicity of bumping into  my other good friend and author, Uwe Albrecht at a gas station in Santa Barbara.

I had invited Uwe and his daughters to the party and had seen him there, but Gayle and I ended up leaving early to accompany Dr. Sha back to his hotel. When we returned Uwe was gone. We had wanted to say goodbye to him, and especially to five year old Shanti and eight year old Gaia. We had bonded with these wonderful young girls and were not sure when would next see them since they live in Germany. We were disappointed not to have been able to have a proper good bye.

Sunday morning we had organized a breakfast to thank Lalla and Rinaldo. At the end of breakfast we went back to theirbeautiful home where Gayle was asked her opinion on the creation of an elegant tented area in their home that was being finalized for their next major party.  Knowing that Sunday traffic back to San Diego could be heavy, I was somewhat impatient.  But I overcame my impatience and gave Gayle the opportunity to finalize her suggestions.  We were now at least half an hour later than I had anticipated leaving, and as we headed out I realized that we would also have to stop for gas. Healing and Giving

Monday, December 2nd, 2013

Surrounded by family and friends, and with some time for reflection on all we have to be grateful for, Thanksgiving imagesweekend was a time for healing and giving.

There is a direct link between healing and giving thanks. In studying Soul Healing Miracles by Dr. and Master Sha, we learn that the first step towards any healing is giving thanks to the creator and all beings who share our higher soul purpose. During Thanksgiving we are able to stop our normal flow of activities and focus on resting or undertaking leisure activities that can nurture what ails us or requires attention. We do not need to limit this attention to physical issues only. Often the holidays can be a time to heal emotional wounds and, as I am learning not just from Dr. and Master Sha but also from my other wonderful healing client, Uwe Albrecht, M.D., emotional issues are often at the heart of physical maladies. Trick or Treat

Monday, November 4th, 2013

Last Thursday was Halloween. For my treat I took half the day off and drove up to Bel Aire country club to play a round of SONY DSCgolf with my good friends Adam Hall and Michael Palmer. The course was practically empty. We never saw any other golfers in front or behind us the entire afternoon. The day was as close to perfect as it could be, pure sunshine, mid seventies, gentle breezes. Bel aire is one of the best groomed golf courses in the world. The membership includes many A list celebrities and high level athletes not just from the world of golf but other sports such as the tennis great Pete Sampras. It is always a treat to play this course and hard not to feel a little bit special when you do. The course requires all players to walk and use caddies so the experience is much closer to old school golf and of course no cell phones or electronic devices allowed. Really forces you to be in nature and amazingly though the course is in Bel Aire with views of Los Angeles from the clubhouse when you are actually on the course you see only a few homes and the beautiful trees and flowers with no indication whatsoever that you are in the middle of one of the largest cities in the world. Yes, Bel Aire, a real treat.

So what was the trick? In part the trick was getting there. Fortunately Gayle decided she would visit with her son and decided to make the trip with me. This allowed us to use the diamond lane which is restricted to cars with two or more occupants. Good thing. Without Gayle joining me the trip would have taken more than two hours and I might have missed our starting time for golf. But the real trick was on my return to San Diego around nine pm when I stopped at the home of my son Cyrus. Cyrus is a very creative young man. He is in charge of conversion of 2D films to 3D and loves to tinker. When I arrived at his home he had rigged up ghosts and goblins in the tree in front of his house. When ringing the doorbell the goblins descended and even knowing they were there beforehand gave Gayle and I quite a trick.

Another part of the trick was having two hundred emails waiting for me when I returned that evening. I am getting ready for appearances at multiple conferences throughout the world in the next two weeks and with radio shows to promote The Power of Twelve and the release of several major titles through our agency ranging this month from Thom Hartmann’s The Crash of 2016 to Master and Dr. Sha’s Soul Healing Miracles, to Neale Donald Walsch’s What God Said and Greg Reid and the Napoleon Hill Foundation’s Stickability I am busier than ever. The trick when taking a day off is to balance the missed connections with clients and other obligations in such a way that I am not overwhelmed from my ‘day off.”

This coming Wednesday I am speaking at a conference in South Carolina for six hundred librarians on how regional libraries can become publishing centers for their communities. The technology is available now and this is a logical progression for libraries to ensure that they remain important cultural hubs for their communities. The conference organizer is a friend of mine who created what is now the Amazon owned company CreateSpace. I am not sure why but Mitch thought I should be the keynote speaker. I am looking forward to speaking but it will require some tricks up my sleeve to ensure I put on a show that is relevant for this audience of librarians which is slightly outside my comfort zone of authors and publishers.

From South Carolina I will be flying via new York to Berlin, Germany where I will be speaking on opportunities for German authors to become global authors. Along with conference organizer Michael Goerden Waterfront Digital Press has just launched the first ever german language ebook company based in the United States. The first novel to be translated to German to test the concept? You guessed it, the german translation of The Power of Twelve. Quite a treat.

Put the Caring Back into Health Care: Medicine in America

Wednesday, September 4th, 2013

Last week I blogged about Dr. and Master Sha and his Soul Healing Miracles. It got me thinking about medicine in 2123984831_b421632b55America. In a nutshell, our system is a mess.

At the same time that American medicine is rightfully viewed as the  top medical system in the world in terms of technology, research, and innovation with the best trained doctors in the world, American medicine is also the most expensive, the least personal, and perhaps the most corrupt system in the world as well.  The corruption starts with Medicare and the temptation that large hospitals and medical groups have to encourage unnecessary medical tests and operations purely for financial gain. The corruption extends to drug companies, insurance companies and other components of both private and government health care providers and regulators whose goals and motives are profit and power and not the care of human beings. More Miracles

Wednesday, August 28th, 2013

So many of us are skeptical about the existence of miracles.  I find that I am not.559d51c88da0b3cc08f54210.L._V192469772_SX200_

Last week I wrote a blog about Jake Ducey and his signature line “miracles are normal”. This week I have the pleasure to introduce my blog readers to my newest client Dr. and Master Zhi Gang Sha.  Dr. Sha has written nine New York Times bestsellers as part of his Soul Power Book Series published by Atria a division of Simon and Schuster.  Dr. Sha approached me several weeks ago because he was thinking of working with a different publisher for his newest book series which will focus on Soul Healing Miracles. The final title  may change prior to publication, but the series is one which will focus on providing readers with access to spiritual, mental, emotional and  physical healing miracles.  The first book is already written and will be published on November 12, 2013. I will provide more details in a future blog, but wanted to introduce Dr. Sha to you and explain why he calls his healing interventions miracles.

The word miracle is not a word to use lightly. For generations in Europe the notion of miracles was tied to religious dogma of the Catholic Church. Jesus was said to have performed numerous miracles in the Bible and some of them, such as the raising of Lazarus from the dead, were clearly medical or health related miracles. When I was studying cultural anthropology at Harvard University, one of the graduate students with whom I was working wrote his Master’s thesis on miracles in Spain. He had researched more than a dozen reported sightings of Mother Mary that were related to specific unexplainable health, crop, water or other measurable miracles reported by multiple  witnesses in Spanish villages, mostly in the nineteenth century.
