Today is the first day of 2014. Where has the time gone? The digits in 2014 add up to seven. We all know that seven is a lucky number. No doubt 2014 is going to be a very lucky year at least for some of us. After all every year seems to favor some of us whether it’s a lucky year or not.
Can there ever be a year that favors all of us? Are we really living in a zero sum world or might it be possible that everyone can benefit at the same time? Why is there so much conflict in the world and what can we each do in our individual lives to ensure that good fortune is the norm and not just an anomaly for the fortunate few?
Today as the first day of a new year is typically when we make New Year’s Resolutions. Some good ones to start with include taking better care of our diet, our exercise program, and being a more available parent, spouse or partner to our children and those who love and depend upon us.
2014 is already a remarkable year. There has never been a time in the history of our planet when so much information was available to so many people. If information is power then we are truly the most powerful generation in the history of the world. Let’s resolve to use this power for good. If we do, 2014 will be a most lucky year not just for us but for future generations.
Celebrate safely. There will never be another 2014.
